Samsung provided details of its new debit card

Samsung has announced that it is working on a physical debit card. This debit card will work with Samsung Pay service.

Samsung has given more details of this card in a blog post. The new service will be called Samsung Money by SoFi. This service will be integrated with Samsung's existing service Samsung Pay.

With Samsung Money you can open a private or shared account.

When you receive a physical card, you can activate it with NFC. Here you can manage all your financial affairs. The good thing is that you do not have to call anywhere to use this service. You don't have to go to a bank. This debit card will be able to withdraw money from all point ATMs spread across the United States, for which there will be a fee deduction but Samsung will refund the deducted fee to you.

This will also allow you to reap the benefits of the Samsung Rewards program. That is, you will get points for every purchase. When your points reach 1000, you will be able to get them in the form of cash. Customers will be charged a higher interest rate for keeping their savings in the account.

Interestingly, no number or CVV will be written on this card. This information will be accessed only through the Samsung Pay app. This service has not been launched yet, so users can add it to the waiting list. Those on the waiting list will be notified by the end of this summer when the service launches.

On August 23 (US local time), Samsung Electronics announced the new Galaxy Note 8 for the global market. It was announced that it will be released on September 15th. It has not been clarified yet about handling in Japan, but we will deliver an overview of the aircraft as soon as possible.

Squarer than the Galaxy S8/S8+, more “note”-like
The "Galaxy Note8" announced this time will be equipped with a 6.3-inch quad HD display. The vertically long screen with an aspect ratio of 18.5: 9 is called the "Infinity Display" and is familiar with the "Galaxy S8/S8+" already on sale in Japan. You can display a wider area when browsing, and it is compatible with "multi-window" that launches two applications at the same time.

If you compare the appearance with the "S8" series, you can see that the shape of the four corners is different. While the "S8" is slightly rounded, the "Note8" adopts a more square shape. The shape of the curve on the side has also been slightly changed, and the display area on the left and right has been expanded while minimizing the width of the main body. The body size is W74.8xH162.5xD8.6mm and the weight is 195g. It is slightly larger than "S8 +". By the way, like the S8 series, the "Bixby" button is installed on the left side.

Dual camera on the back
The Note8 has the company's first dual camera on the back. Two wide-angle cameras with 12 million pixels / F1.7 / dual pixel sensor and a telephoto camera with 12 million pixels / F2.4. By switching with a telephoto lens, it reproduces an optical zoom equivalent to 2x. When combined with the digital zoom, you can zoom up to 10x. By the way, the in-camera is 8 million pixels / F1.7.

The highlight is the “Live Focus” feature. With two rear cameras, you can blur the background and make your subject stand out. Not only can you adjust the blur before shooting, but you can also change the background blur after shooting. It should be noted that both Note8's two cameras support optical image stabilization. Even when using the Live Focus function, camera shake is further reduced.

By the way, by turning on the "Dual Capture" function during Live Focus, you can also save images taken with a wide-angle camera at the same time. While shooting a portrait with a blurred background, you can also take a commemorative photo including the scenery at the same time.

Use the built-in "S Pen" for notes and translation functions
The Note series has its own stylus pen, "S Pen", housed in the terminal itself. There is a pen storage part at the bottom right of the display, and you can detach the pen by pushing it in.

When you pull out the S Pen, a list of frequently used apps is displayed, so you can quickly select the app you want to use. The number of applications displayed was previously limited to 6, but has increased to 10 on this device.

The size of the S Pen is 0.7mm in diameter, 108mm in length, and 5.8mm in thickness. It senses 4096 levels of pen pressure, and the pen itself is waterproof and dustproof.

There are three notable features related to the S Pen. First, "Screen Off Memo" allows you to take notes on your smartphone by pulling out the pen while the screen is in sleep mode. The same function was available on previous models, but this time it has been improved so that you can take notes of 100 pages. In the case of "Note7", it was up to 3 pages, so it can be said that it has become easier for people who take notes for a long time. By the way, it is also possible to display the created memo on "Always On Display".

The second is the translation function. By holding the S Pen over the part you want to translate, the sentence including that part will be converted to the specified language. It is characterized by being able to translate sentences, not words. The third is a new function called "Live Message". Handwritten characters and pictures are converted into animated GIF files. It can be shared with message apps and SNS.

So that you can launch multiple windows in an instant
As a new function related to the display, "App Pair", which allows you to start two different apps at the same time, is excellent. By registering two apps to be used as a set in advance, you can launch a multi-window with a single touch. For example, a set that activates "Google Maps" and plays music with "Play Music" while using navigation seems to be active just before setting it in the car holder in the car.
