Eid-ul-Fitr to be celebrated on Sunday after Shawwal moon disappears in the country

Eid in Saudi Arabia will be on Sunday, May 24. According to the details, Eid-ul-Fitr has been announced on May 24 after the moon did not appear in Saudi Arabia. There will be a fast in Saudi Arabia tomorrow, Saturday, and Eid al-Fitr will begin on Sunday. On the other hand, Eid-ul-Fitr has been officially announced on Sunday in Turkey, Malaysia and Indonesia.


The moon of Shawwal has not been seen in these countries. It is reported that meetings were called in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Malaysia and Indonesia to observe the Shawwal moon, but the Shawwal moon was not seen in these three countries, after which the authorities announced that Eid-ul-Fitr may be observed in the countries on May 24. It will be on Sunday.

Tomorrow is Saturday, the 30th of Ramadan in these three countries.

Earlier in the day, Australia was the first country where the Fatwa Council had announced that Muslims living in Australia would celebrate Eid al-Fitr on Sunday, May 24. Today, on Friday, May 22, meetings were convened in most of the Islamic countries of the world, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, to observe the month of Shawwal. 

Officials in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have also announced that the Shawwal moon has not been sighted, so Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday, May 24 in both countries. It should be noted that the astronomer had already predicted that the moon of Shawwal is less likely to appear in Saudi Arabia on Friday, May 22.
