When the players voted, the best eleven came out like the losers who lost the World Cup.
The 2022 best eleven announced on the 18th was newly established by the Japan Professional Footballers Association (JPFA), which is made up of J-leaguers and Japanese players who play overseas, and all 11 members were in the "European group". Another characteristic of the J1-J3 best eleven is that there was little difference between the voting results of the players who actually played against them and the members of the J-League executives who chose them.
The JPFA's best eleven sisted of 10 Japanese representatives from last year's World Cup in Qatar regardless of which league the players belong to. Al regardless of which league the players belong though he was eliminated from the World Cup squad, forward Kyogo Furuhashi (Celtic), who has a large number of goals in Scotland, was selected, and Schmidt Daniel (Sint-Truiden), who was a reserve in the World Cup, was selected as GK. The best player (MVP) was MF Kaoru Mitoma (Brighton).
The J.League Awards, which are awards for J.Leaguers, are selected by the chairman and the representatives of each club. As of November 20, 2018, 1,654 people belonged to the JPFA, and about 70% of them voted. No prize money. Maya Yoshida, president of JPFA and captain of the Japanese national team, said, "I thought that players from outside the J-League should be properly evaluated.
Regarding the fact that there are some differences between the members selected by Japan national team coach Hajime Moriyasu, Yoshida said, "It's a player who actually fought. It's also interesting that the objective evaluation of the players is reflected in the results."
In the J1 best eleven, excluding 3 foreign players, only DF Ryuta Koike (Yokohama F. Marinos) was left out of the award, and 7 people were the same as "Awards". Kashima Antlers' forward Kiyo Ueda (Cercle Brugge), who scored 10 goals in the first half of the season and went to Belgium midway through the season, and forward Shooto Machino (Shonan Bellmare), who scored the most goals for a Japanese player at 13, will play in the World Cup. The two representatives were not selected for the Awards but were selected for the JPFA.
8 J2 players and 10 J3 players are the same members as the Awards, and the MVP of each category is DF Tomoki Iwata, who transferred from Yokohama Ma to Celtic, for J1, Koki Ogawa (Yokohama FC) for J2, and Ryo Arita for J3. It was the same as the player (Iwaki FC). [Nao Goto]
